Information report about Penguins

Our goal for writhing this week is to use a text structure that is appropriate to the purpose

Have you ever seen a Penguin? I have in Sydney at the aquarium

The tallest Penguin is the Emperor Penguin they grow to 120 cm in height and weight 23kg. There are 17 types of penguins the one thing they all have the same is black bodies and white bellies. They have wings covered in feathers but don´t fly. They have short legs which they waddle or hop to move around. They have blubber to keep them warm. Penguins are a flightless bird.

Penguins only live in the Southern hemisphere they like the cold climate. They spend half of their time on land and half in the sea. They stay in groups on the land together to keep warm there can be thousands or millions in colonies.

Penguins worst predators are seals,sharks and whales. Penguins stay in groups in the water so it is safer for them.

Penguins catch their food under water, Emperor Penguins can stay underwater for around 20 minutes at a time they mainly eat fish,krill and squid. Penguins are carnivores they eat meat

Penguins sleep for only a couple of minutes at a time they can sleep in the sea or on land. 

I like how Polar Penguins slide on their tummies to go long distances like tobogganing. I bet you would like to be able to do this to?

We have read about Torty the Tortoise this week for reading. My cartoon is the adventures he went on in New Zealand.

In the bag Probability

I played what’s in the bag with my Mum. We used a small bag and coloured counters and we took turns at having ago to guess the probability of colours. After 5 turns I thought I could guess what was in the bag,I choose 5 yellow and 1 red but it turns out 3 red and 3 yellow were in the bag.This is half&half so I was wrong. Mum then had a turn she thought after 4 turns she could guess and went with 5 red and 1 yellow but it was 4 red and 2 yellow so she was wrong as well.

Mum let me do something different today she said i can stay in my PJ's and have a sleep in. I have been learning how to make my bed and i am getting better at it. I don't know if i will have enough time in the morning when i have school or i might be late. Because i do like to bike to school and i don't like being late. i have been playing PlayStation today and watched a movie called Avengers endgame its a great movie i would give it a 10/10. Just finishing of my blog before bed lucky im still in my PJ's.

Fortnite world cup

Hi i'm Taine i'm trying to compete in the Fortnite world cup, I will take awhile to get there. I'm trying to improve on everything like shooting, building, editing. My most favourite part is editing i'm fast at it and really good.  I need to improve on my building and shooting the best way i can do this is by lots of creative practice. I think i will make it in the world cup if i keep training and get better. I need to play against better players then me to help me improve my skills.

Today I was involved in a protest at our village Parihka. The European people want to take over and build new roads. I feel very sad because our village is being attacked. Lots of our men got arrested for no reason because they were trying to save our land. I was worried that I was going to be arrested too. I was confused why they were taken away for trying to save our land. The children in the village gave out bread so we would not get attacked but it did not work sadly. The village is destroyed. I am worried but I know we will be alright and fight for our land.

kia ora on Tuesday 27 august 2019 we got invite to watch the Court Theater show. They were amazing they were doing English Tonga Maori and Samoan language they start with big loud drums actually a box they did a very good job of the show. It was about a co cant tree that how the tree's got made T was by a big monster in the sea he was a Eel he rest a he make a co cant tree there was lost of famous people in books and movies in the story.

winter sport

Hi my name is Taine and I go to St Francis of Assisi school in Christchurch.

This season we were playing rugby are first game was the riper tournament it was time  to start of the  first game we played Ola and we won buy a bit of trys. And then we played New Brighton and then we went back to our school. And then the next Thursday we came back and we did the tackling tournament and then we vs Ola and then paparoa Street they are both a very hard teams. And then we came back to school and then the next Thursday we played a really game but we play two it was a real first game and then we now are season was not going to be easy. And then then the season went on and then there was are last game of the season we played Ola and then we won 6 to 4 and we came 3 and we were so happy

Hello my name is Taine and i go to st Francis of Assisi school Christchurch.


yesterday i play rugby at haggle park we vs Ola is was very tuf we were dun 8 nil at the first half then the second half we came back i got the first try for my team i kick off it when really hiy and then he cage it and then we tackle him and push him out of the ruck then Archie got one then zach got one then it was to Ola it was 12 3 and there only was 3 minute i said we can still win this game and then the ame end so the score was 3 12 to Ola:)
